Our staff spoke with this individual this morning and explained what Social Security meant when saying the case had been placed on a "medical hold." SSA places some cases on "medical hold" when they have information showing that the disability is not yet stable and the expected change in the applicant's condition might affect the determination or decision. This is because the duration of some disabilities is subject to an individual's response to the treatment that doctors prescribe. When that response has not been established, a "medial hold" is placed on the claim so that a response can be established before Social Security makes its determination. We are saddened to see our client's spouse so upset at our company for this standard procedural issue with Social Security. We continue to be here, though, to help our client during this difficult time and will do all we can to help in this administrative process. If there are further questions, we can be contacted at 1-800-652-9626.
