Lawyers that don't do their job - the court system is aware of it

We are unable to verify if this is a review from a client we've represented. We just became aware of this obscure website and the reviews that are here, so this is our first opportunity to address this. We had been unaware of any complaint like this, and since it has been 3 ½ years since this was posted, we strongly suspect this was just a person venting their frustration that Social Security isn't able to pay them more in monthly benefits. While we understand the frustration that can come from this, we can't change how much you worked in the past or how much you contributed to Social Security. What we can do is offer you excellent representation. Here, while the person may be upset, we did win the case and got them the benefits they were seeking. If they'd like to discuss this further, we're always happy to talk. Call us at 1-800-652-9626.

The lawyers that were assigned to my husband continued to change every three months and when we finally were able to go in front of a judge. He was not prepared and the judge was extremely angry with him.

He was wasting his time so, he took the judgement out on my husband. He didn't get disability but SSI. You can't live on that... My husband tired to get another attorney to go back to the judge but no other attorney will deal with the situation.

We are getting ready to sue Brad Myler and the attorney that didn't do his job.

The attorney's at Myler will not even return are calls.. So, we are going to file a claim against them in Utah.....

First off disabilty is SSI, SSA is retirement/early retirement and it all depends on what you have made up until your case settles. You should be grateful you got something. :?

Joke of a business

We suppose this review was written by a former employee who is now one of our competitors. We disagree with the accusations he's making and are proud of our employees. We try very hard to help our clients in what is often a very thankless job and we have a proven record of being very good at what we do. We spend a significant part of each week training our employees on how to better serve our clients and how to work better as a team. We constantly look for ways to improve and the longer we do this, the better we get. If any of our employees have questions or concerns about any aspect of their job, Human Resources always has an open door and will help in any way they can. While from time to time we may have a dissatisfied employee, we're confident that most of our employees take pride in their job and find great satisfaction serving our amazing clients.

I actually was employed for Myler Disability and this company is definitely crooked. They didn't even start doing background checks on employees until May of this year (2013).

Very scary considering the employees have access to EVERY SINGLE client's personal information and file, including SSN, home address, full name, mother's maiden name, etc. Case managers get paid EXTRA MONEY just for doing other people's work for them. None of these employees are adequately trained or educated. The majority of them are only high school graduates that don't want to go to college and this joke a business will hire them to work full time, because that's about all the work they can get.

Each case manager has between 500-700 clients each so they are extremely impersonal and never get to know one single client. They are told to keep the conversation as short and to the point as possible. They don't care about helping clients, they care about getting their monthly bonus for hitting all their goals and getting all their work done quickly so they can do other people's for extra money.

Don't waste your time with this company they will spout off a list of what they are doing for you but in reality they maybe deal with your case once a month when they call to follow up on what they call "medical forms" that are required by your doctor. Such a disappointing experience working for a company that claims to advocate disability victims.

I worked there also, and this is exactly right. They are always hiring, and have a huge turnover rate, along with the pressure of getting your certain time, and the goals.

Not a very fun place to work, and more stressful. Basically the call center is the worst part, and you are stuck there for a long time.

2 years ago, I hired Myler Disability for my legal representation for SSI. They are a joke!!

Every month, the changed Case Managers. They wont return phone calls, & when you do reach a Case Manager, they sound like they are reading from a script. I suffer from ptsd, bipolar, depression, I also have hypertension, have had 3 tia's, and I have back & knee problems. The *** attorney that was assigned to my case didnt even contact me until the day before court.

All he told me was that it was dress casual & to be there 30 minutes early. He didnt go over any part of my case. He had not even looked at my case, until we got to court. The judge called us in 5 minutes after we got there, so my genius of an attorney didnt have time to look at it.

He even asked me what my name was. Needless to say, I got denied, so Myler Disability withdrew from my case. I had lost my job, due to my illness, had to stay with friends or family. I was even homeless at one point.

I just hired an attorney that I can call anytime & he will speak to me about my case. Oh & when Myler Disability withdrew, they had the nerve to send me a bill, which I will not pay one dime to them.

How do you have enough money to hire an attorney if you were homeless and lost your job? I hope that they take you to court and press charges against you for your refusing to do the adult thing and pay your bill.

You seem like a lazy person who is too lazy to get a job. You use your disability to not get a job.

@PissedConsumer817203

You dont have to have money to hire any attorney for a disability case. I have been extremely ill for the past 3 years & have almost died a couple of times.

I am anything but lazy. I started working when I was 14 & have worked my entire life, so you need to ask a few questions about someone, before you start making comments like you did, when you do not have a clue what you are talking about.

I have very similar disabilities and issues. I used mylar, it took 2 years...not myler's fault, that is actually 6 months less than normal for this part of Florida, but they got me SSI and ssdi plus I only filled out forms once or twice.

If you didn't get what you thought was coming talk to your doctor. They have the controlling information the law office just puts it together.

Like did you have a letter from your doctor stating you could not return to the workforce? With your prognosis and diagnosis?

@PissedConsumer817178

Yes I did have a letter...the attorney they sent did not even go over my case at all. I have since hired a real attorney that I can talk to him instead of 90 different case managers. I am glad that they got something for you, because they certainly did nothing for my case.

#816650

You will always be denied the first time. I got denied the first time and 2 years later I still have the same attorney, who knows both judges I have.

As far as time frame in the court, the first one like I said you will be denied and you spend very little time in the court room, the second one you have an hour in court and it is much more detailed and you speak. Don't give up.

I had the same problem with Brad Myler. They declined waiver fees.

I found a way around them. Contact your local Social Security Office (Disability dept) Tell them you are having problems with the waiver fees and Brad Myler. Ask them if you can file a "right to withdraw representation letter". I am not sure if all states allow this.

But if they do. Just ask them how to do this. Once you do this, verify it has been scanned into their system. You can get a new attorney this way.

But you have a short time to do this! You will also need to let your new attorney know and send them a copy of this letter. Also one needs to go to Brad Myler but I would wait till you get the rest of them sent and verified first. This only allows you to get a new attorney.

It is up to the hearing judge if how much he will allow in fees to be paid to Brad Myler. Hope this helps everyone who is having this issue. I was waiting for 2 years.

By the way, this is standard wait time in most cases, but Brad Myler drags it out so they get more money from all that back pay you are getting from waiting each month. Sad but true....

First I would like to say "Amen" to all the comments. If you are looking for your case to get approved in 2-10 yrs this is the lawfirm for you.

My ex-husband decided to hire Myler law because he felt mentally unable to understand the process(he suffers from mental and physical disabilities), they helped him file his claim 9 months ago.. Well, he was denied at the 6 months mark(they said usaully happens) than 8 months in they said they needed the appeal paperwork(should'nt that have ask at the 5-6 month mark if that usally happens). They said after the appeal was filed SSI would file a court date(they said could take up to a yr or more.. After he spent the night in a homeless shelter and almost freezing to death I decided to take over. I called Myler law and demanded to speak to a supervisor. When I was speaking with him I was informed of many things they did not tell my ex-husband and that was only after I ask I swear 50 questions. He is changing law firms A.S.A.P

Myler will not return phone calls, emails and have no regard for time lines; you will do all the research, you will speak to several "advocates", as no one person takes ownership; your lawyer or advocate will meet with you a few minutes before the hearing, and will be unaware of your disability,as she/he would have reviewed your case only a 1/2 hour before (if that)and as my husband discovered never utter one word on his behalf at the hearing!!When you have to go through to the appeals process (as you will with this unprofessional office) they will discourage this process.

They just do not care...you will never meet with anyone in person and I cannot believe they still exist in the legal field! Get a lawyer you can sit across the table with, that will listen to your concerns and FIGHT for you!!The added stress they put you through is ridiculous and disgusting.Get yourself a professional office to fight on your behalf to get what you are deserving of, that being not only the disability award but the RESPECT you deserve!!

They were very rude and sarcastic telling me that people worse then me drive. They asked if I can get a cab. The fare would cost me at least 200.00. I told them I had to reschedule so I get the letter saying when and where, I go there nervous and all my friends were telling me "Relax, all you do is sit there and the lawyer will do all your talking." It took them 3 years to get my husband $156.00 a month but didn't go after the real problem that was to get his Disability case re-opened. The case was turned over to six different attorneys before it went in front of a judge.

They agreed to SSI and didn't discuss with my husband what he was giving up. So, now that we are understanding what SSI is really about we can't get Myler to go back in front of the judge and no other attorney will touch the case. So, if Mr. Brad Myler reads these complaints I just want to let you know that your firm is full of attorneys that don't really care about anyone.

Your company has made it so that my family has been destroyed and that in order for us to survive that I will have to divorce my husband so, he can get help to take care of all his medical bills. ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS YOUR JOB! SO I HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS!!!! MR.

I will tell you not to worry, I have Myler and I began in 2010 was denied, 2012 went before a judge first time was denied, these steps are standard for your disabilities, but for osteoarthritis 90% of the population has it, so do I, but my back and shoulder are worse than that, as far as your mental disorder focus on that, get all the records you can, see a therapist its important to be proactive doing all you can do to get help. 2014 I am going for my second hearing, it is not the attorney's, SS has all medical doctors in the court room along with a vocational expert to see if you can do the same work you always have or something else, your mental disorder is your strongest disorder

Failed to communicate, failed to return phone calls, rudeness, Abandoning client after hearing, refusing to answer questions, failed to maintain client/attorney trust, advised and directly indicated that caused my witness to become unavailable, used intimidation to coerce me into signing another fee agreement and other forms twice...without informing me of the matter. What else can I say? What a waist of 2 1/2 years...oh yes, and withdrawing themselves from my case only after my disability hearing...only after their website promises that Mylers doesn't give up that they will file a appeals with the appeals council on your behalf..yea, right.

SURE they do.

No one made or coerced you into signing anything, that was your choice, no one makes you sign, you must read and if inagreement, say NO.

This is the worst company ever. There is nothing but a bunch of young kids running the show.

My attorney met me 15 minutes before my hearing and knew nothing about my case. I have never felt so ripped off in my life. No one ever returns your calls. People who work for this company must not be very smart; they can't even give you the same answer and are always giving you different people to work on your case who don't know what they are doing.

It just a big telemarketing set up trying to rip you off. Then they act like they have well educated people working for you and they don't

Your right!

I worked at Myler for 2 weeks and did not like what I saw. The employees are made up of young employees.

I accepted the position thinking I could help make a difference. I spent one week in training with fast talking trainers. Hard to grasp when trained at high speed!

My gut told me to get out. So I did.

How entitled do you have to be to call something that is free a rip-off?

I have yet to get to talk to a live voice. What have I done here with Myler Disability?

Can't even get a return call, but they send letters asking for all of my personal information. And why do I have to type 100 words. I just getting horrible service from someone who is supposed to be representing me on a disability claim. If you are reading this Myler Disability or Brad Myler please return me phone calls.

This is foolishness.

Now I have to get a lawyer to deal with this situation. I hope not and hope all the other comments are not true.
