Myler Disability - It's a republican company that believes S.S.I. is an 'entitlement'

This comment is not from an actual client of Myler Disability and is merely the opinion of the author. At Myler, we have attorneys and staff of all political ideologies. However, in our experience, only those who truly believe in helping the poor and disabled end up staying in this practice long term. We've been doing this for many, many years, so you can guess where we stand on the political spectrum.

I was contacted by Myler, to represent me with my S.S.D. claim however, after speaking with them directly & asking pointed question I realize I was talking to Mitt Romney, while claiming to be advocates for the poor & disadvantage they in actuality believe S.S.I. is an entitlement subject to reduction...so they are willing to assist you only because they get paid...not because they feel you earned it or are deserving...If a company in there heart don't believe you deserve their help then the assistance you receive will be sub par at best...

We continue to review client's cases after coming on as representatives to make sure the medical records match the allegations being made. When they do not, we attempt to work with the client on getting updated records. If these updated records aren't supportive, we usually will withdraw our representation. Here, this is what happened. If the client would like to talk more about why we withdrew and what he needs to do to help develop his case better, he can call us at 1-800-652-9626.

Hi, I am a 30 yr old male with "jme" epilepsy. I have had it for 10+ yrs and have seizures on a regular basis.

Myler was "representing" me for at least a couple yrs. then I get a letter saying they are dropping representation of me for what reason, I have no idea.

I can't work, can't drive, and continue to get worse. How is it even legal for them to drop me???

I got an email from this Myler company stating:

"..someone you know has contacted us about your disability claim.."

Uhh.. I don't have a claim. With any department, for any reason. No claim.

So they want to represent me, because "someone"asked in my stead, for a non-existent claim. Who spoke for me? I'm not married, I don't have kids, I live alone... my cat maybe?

How did they get my info from an injury (the only one in my 31 yrs working-history) that occurred in 2001??

These guys are a scam. Don't give them your time, your info or your money.

While we are unable to verify if this is an actual client (the review was anonymous), we're absolutely certain that nearly everything in this review is incorrect. BEWARE of Myler Disabiliy! I have tried to get SSD/SSI twice. I was turned down the first time and turned to Myler disability the second time. They asked me to send any medical records that I had and they wanted a list of all my doctors. I sent what I had and they claim they didn't get all of it..sent it again. Had to go to my local Social security office to file for SSI on my own, as they did not file for SSI!! Spent two 8 hour days there!! The SS person who helped me with my SSI application said "if your lawyer wants to be part of your SSI claim, tell them to send in their forms" Kept getting copies of letters sent to Myler from SSA determination saying that "if they don't send in anymore of my medical records, that my file will be closed. Had to call them to send in their forms that SSA had requested. My case went fast. Had to get a physical from SSA's hired doctors since they did not have enough of my records to go by...Found out that my decision was unfavorable because SSA had to determine from THEIR PHYSICAL ONLY..if I was disabled. I have years and years of Medical Records and only a handful were obtained for my case. I have changed lawyers for the appeal,as Myler did nothing! Myler jacked me around just like your description. They flat out lied to me told me they had filed my diet need, then found that they didn't, they don't do what they promise, don't return phone calls, I found that I could have been able to collect $ while the case was being handled, mis filed information, and meanwhile I'm losing my house because I couldn't prove an income to qualify for the making home affordable programs, and I finally called the Social Security office in Denver and explained my citation and they told me that Myler never requested any hearing and I actually was able to get a court date 2 weeks later, only to find out Myler didn't present any of the revelant factors for my case.

I could write a lot more than this but bottom line THEY SUCK.

DON'T GO NEAR THEM. CHECK OUT THE OTHER STORIES ON THE INTERNET.

I really wish I had read all of these complaints before I hired them. When I googled disability lawyers their add said they are the #1 disability advocate in the United States. It seems that I have to do all the work for them I am very annoyed by the lack of effort on their part and now I am stuck with them I have been evicted from my home and have nowhere to go and they will not file for an immediate hearing because I can't prove where I live I offered to send a copy of my truck title because that is the only address I can give but that is not enough and the case worker I have does not return calls and is reluctant to file my speedy hearing papers.

You people have no idea what you are talking about...Myler is simply an office that helps with disability...they are NOT magicians! I have seen doctors regularly for my condition for years and with the help of Myler was eventually awarded my benefits.

The ss system is simple...if you dont see doctors and have proof, it doesnt matter how disabled you are....this has NOTHING to do with Myler's ability as a company.

I think most of these complaints are towards the government not towards an office who is trying to help you deal with the government. Although, it took over a year to be approved, and I was often frustrated, I am very grateful for the work this company did for me!

Lawyer was suppose to contact me few days before hearing. He didn't I had to contact him.

He called the night before hearing and wanted me there early. I got to the courthouse early and he talked with me 5 minutes before the hearing. He had not even researched what interstitial cystitis was. My denial letter did not even contain the ruling in IC.

SSR 02-2p. In my denial letter the judge thought it was a renal disease.

IC is a bladder disease. I've called the lawyer and still no answer back.

You call them and leave messages and they don't return your calls. I did more work for these people then they have done for me. I sent them all my medical records, all the forms they needed for me and my doctor to fill out yet when my hearing comes right around the corner they tell me to withdraw from it. Then I get a letter in the mail saying they are totally going to withdraw their lawyer from my case.

What kind of zoo are they running.

I too had a bad experience. I should have gotten a clue by the title advocates, rather than attys.

After I sent them all the data I had collected from filing on my own previously, I didn't hear from them for approx one year. Every time I tried to get a status report from them, a new person was handling my file. The only time I met anyone was at my hearing and he just introduced himself and wasn't heard from again.

The judge and I discussed my claim and she approved my claim right then and there without any input from him.

They process these claims like an assembly line and have no empathy for people who are disabled and in need of help. There is a female atty, I think her name is Jenny, who I heard is really good.

Myler Disability - Poor Outcome Review from Downey, California

We are unable to verify if this review is from a former client, as it was posted anonymously. If we did withdraw from this claim, it was because we became aware of evidence that contradicted the allegations the client was making. While this person may very likely feel that he/she should get disability benefits, if his/her doctors are not supportive and if he/she has not been getting regular treatment, there's not much we can do to help. We don't think this is “ghetto representation,” but rather honest, candid legal advice. While you're under no obligation to follow the advice we offer, please don't be upset if we determine that your claim no longer has merit because of the evidence you had been trying to hide from us. I actually used them and happened to be on this site to get the info to give to another person ..I am shocked at what I am reading, I feel like they were helpful, attentive and returned calls when needed or contacted me for things they might need. My claim was quickly resolved and when SS held back money for review, they helped me get it cleared up AFTER they had been paid and didn't charge me anything other than the fee agreed to ( a percentage of the award) sorry I don't recall the exact percentage or amount, but the aggravation the alleviated was well worth it, as another lawyer had the case 4 years and mishandled it.

They are professional and I would recommend them.

These guys took two years of my life. All along I thought they were doing a good job for me. They answered my calls so I thought all was well.

My hearing date arrived and I answered all questions truthfully. The Myler attorney who sat in on the hearing took notes on a legal pad as the judge asked me questions. Hearing over the attorney said I represented myself well.

His last words to me were, "If your case is denied we will refile."

Two months later I receive a letter from Myler telling me about how I should appeal or start a new claim.

I did not realize my case had been denied. So I call my case manager and she tells me they are dropping me as a client. What the heck happened to "We will refile".

Two years of my life I wasted with these people.

I am sure they win some cases to stay in business.

However I would think long and hard before I trusted them with my future.

Haven't used |Myler yet, their not the only one's who act like that. I chose another Diability company.

Before my hearing I asked them is their anything else I could do to support my claim. They said theirs nothing more to do but wait. Which their was something else I could have done, because they didn't accomplish anything. I emailed them crying my heart out about my situation, most of the time they would email back.

Their attorneys for the first hearing, met me at the last minute, and flew by all the details. Then the next hearing I had a female attorney, they switched attorneys without asking me anything. I think you should at least meet with attorneys at least a week or 2 before hearing. Get this the second hearing the judge didn't show.

It was the coldest day ever, but I made it their an hour early, wasted carfare, because he cancelled it to another date, which I asked my lawyer, how much longer it will be before the judge calls another hearing. I think it's unfair that they can not show up and make your case longer than necessary when you already had been waiting 2 years.

|If I didn't show up my case would have been cancelled. Again it was cold as ever below 0, I made it why didn't he.

In 2010 my wife won her s.s disability case. She had to take her case in front of the hearing judge after being denied twice.

My wife had three letters from doctors stating she was disabled and the judge was surprised it had gone this long. On the day of her hearing the Myler attorney showed up just in time. he was completely prepared. He only needed to talk to my wife for a few minutes because he had all of her records.

This mylar attorney new exactly how to talk to the judge and just called out reference numbers to the medical records. The hearing did not last 5 minutes and the judge issued his ruling right then.

All back S.S payments included. Almost everyone gets denied at least once maybe twice.

on my first interview i ask them about the fees if i did not have back pay and they said everybody gets back pay and there would be no fee unless they were out of pocket for expenses like medical records.

It seems like there might have been a misunderstanding, as my previous experience with Myler has been fantastic. They were honest, polite, and friendly.

I'm sure that a big firm like Myler would have several expenses in a case that it would need to recover, such as attorney fees, record fees, and all other fees associated with running a business and making sure that your matter is given the best representation possible. I don't think it would be fair for them to help you win your benefits and not be compensated.

Just my opinion. Once again, thank you Myler.

Myler Disability - Disability Package Review from Houston, Texas

We just became aware of this review. Almost 3 years has passed and we hope that this person reached out to our office for clarification on why he/she was receiving the same paperwork more than once. It's very likely that if the new client package was sent multiple times, it was because the client asked us to. Other paperwork may seem repetitive, but nearly all of it is what Social Security requires to have updated from time to time.
